Digital SAT Prep Course and Classes, Online

The SAT is now a two-hour, adaptive test taken in the Bluebook app. Our SAT prep course prepares students for the test as it is actually sat — module by module, with separate specialists for Reading and Writing and for Math.

Short answer

SAT preparation is offered online, one-to-one or in a group class.

One-to-one lessons are 90 minutes long and start at USD 80 per lesson; the group course runs 72 lessons of 60 minutes for USD 1,050, and a class never takes more than 6 students.

Group classes next begin on 14 November 2026.

What the SAT is, and who needs it

The SAT is College Board’s admissions test for undergraduate study, used above all by universities in the United States. After several years in which many US universities went test-optional, a number of the most selective have brought the requirement back — MIT, Harvard, Dartmouth, Brown, Stanford, Penn and Cornell among them — so for a student aiming at those schools the SAT is once again part of the application rather than an optional extra. Policies differ from one university to the next and change between cycles, so the current rule of each school on your list is the one to check.

For students across Africa the SAT sits alongside, not instead of, their school qualification. A student in Lagos on A Levels, a student in Nairobi on the IB and a student in Cairo on an American diploma may all sit it for the same reason: a US application. The American-diploma student usually needs it most, because the SAT is what gives an American high-school transcript a common yardstick; the A Level or IB student often needs it for a narrower list of universities.

How the Digital SAT is structured

Two sections, each split into two equal modules. The first module of each section is the same kind for everyone; how you perform on it decides whether the second module is harder or easier.

Who the SAT prep course is for

  • American-diploma students

In Egypt, Morocco, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal and elsewhere, where the SAT is the standard companion to an American high-school transcript.

  • A Level, IGCSE and IB students applying to the US

Who need a score for a specific list of US universities alongside UK or other applications.

  • Students re-sitting for a higher score

Who already have a result and need to know exactly which question types are holding it back.

  • Families planning early

Who want to know in Grade 10 or Year 11 how far a student is from a target, before the application year compresses everything.

What the lessons work on

  • The first module of each section

It decides which scoring range the second module can reach. Careless errors early cost more than the same errors late, so the opening of each section is practised deliberately.

  • Reading and Writing, question type by question type

Short passages mean the skill is precise reading of a few lines: words in context, text structure, evidence, transitions, and the Standard English conventions that make up a large share of the section.

  • Math across the four domains

Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry — including when the built-in Desmos calculator saves time and when it quietly costs it.

  • Pacing

A little over a minute per Reading and Writing question and about a minute and a half per Math question. Pacing is trained on full modules, not on isolated questions.

  • Bluebook conditions

Full practice is taken in the digital format so the tools, the timer and the module transition are familiar before test day.

  • The re-sit decision

Whether a second sitting is worth it depends on the error profile and on how each target university treats multiple scores. We look at both before recommending one.

Sitting the SAT from Africa

The SAT is delivered at test centres in many African countries on international weekend dates, and seats in the large cities can fill well before the deadline — registering early is the single most useful piece of logistics advice. Registration, the list of centres and the international calendar are on College Board’s own site, and that is the only place to rely on for them.

The test is taken on a laptop or tablet running the Bluebook app. A student without a suitable device can ask College Board to lend one, but the request has to be made at least 30 days before test day, needs an adult outside the family — typically a teacher or counsellor — to confirm eligibility, and the device is handed over at the test centre. Planning that month into the timeline is part of the plan we write.

How SAT preparation works

Every lesson is live, online and 90 minutes long, scheduled in your own time zone. Lessons are taught in English, the language the exam is sat in.

  1. Free intro call

Fifteen minutes with an advisor, at no cost and with no obligation.

  2. Diagnostic

You sit a free full-length diagnostic in the real exam format before any lesson is booked. It produces a starting score and, more usefully, an error profile: which question types are costing marks, whether the problem is content or timing, and which sections need a specialist. The plan is written from that rather than from an estimate. It is taken online at a time you choose, so nobody has to travel to a centre to find out where they stand.

  3. Written plan

You receive a written plan built from your starting point and your test date: which SAT sections come first, how many lessons that realistically takes, and when full practice tests enter. Nobody is sold a fixed number of lessons before the gap is known.

  4. Lessons and review

Each lesson ends with set work and a target for the next one. Families receive progress notes, and the plan is re-read against every new score rather than followed blindly.

Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers. If yours is not here, ask us.

For some, yes. MIT, Harvard, Dartmouth, Brown, Stanford, Penn and Cornell are among the selective universities that require SAT or ACT scores again, while many others remain test-optional. Policies change between admissions cycles, so check each university on your list for the year you apply.

It depends on the gap between the diagnostic score and the target, and on how much time the student has alongside school. Most students need a few months of steady work; the free diagnostic is what turns that into a real estimate for you.

No. The SAT is digital worldwide and taken in the Bluebook app. Accommodations for specific needs are arranged through College Board rather than by returning to paper.

Both are accepted by US universities that ask for a test. The ACT now has an optional science section and a different pace; some students score noticeably better on one than the other. Our SAT–ACT comparison page sets out the differences side by side.

Usually not, and deliberately. The two sections test different skills, and the tutor who is strongest on Advanced Math is rarely the strongest on rhetorical synthesis. A student working on both has a specialist for each.

Both. One-to-one lessons can start with a single lesson, and the group course is taught live online in classes of at most six, grouped by level and taught in English. Prices are on the SAT pricing page.
