Online Tutors for International Exams, for Students in Nigeria

Most students in Nigeria finish school with WASSCE or NECO results and sit the UTME for a Nigerian university, while others follow Cambridge, IB or American routes. As online tutors, we prepare students for the international exams that sit alongside those routes, live online, in English, and timed around the Nigerian exam calendar.

  • Live online lessons on West Africa Time (UTC+1)
  • Lessons taught in English
  • Plans built around WASSCE, NECO and UTME dates
  • Lesson packages and course options

How secondary school ends in Nigeria

Students in Nigeria reach university through several different exams, and many hold more than one of them. Each one is run by a different body, and each counts in a different way.

Where students apply, and what is usually asked

Requirements differ by university and by course, and they change between admissions cycles. The rows below describe the general pattern; for any university on your list, check the university’s international entry requirements for the year you apply.

DestinationWhat is usually askedTests that may be needed
Nigerian universitiesFive relevant O Level credits from no more than two sittings, a UTME score that reaches the cut-off for that year, and often a written test or interview set by the universityUTME; for Direct Entry, two A Level passes or another qualification JAMB lists
United KingdomA Levels or the IB Diploma; WASSCE alone can mean a foundation programme first, as at the University of ManchesterIELTS or TOEFL, though some universities accept a strong WAEC English grade instead
United StatesThe full secondary-school record, essays and references; some selective universities require test scores again, others are test-optionalSAT or ACT where required; AP scores support an application; English test rules vary
CanadaSome universities consider WASSCE results directly, with subject prerequisites, as University of Toronto Engineering does; A Levels and the IB are accepted there tooEnglish test where the university asks for one

Where the exam calendars collide

WAEC, NECO and JAMB had not published their 2027 dates when this page was checked, so the Nigerian rows show the 2026 pattern; the Cambridge entries also follow the June 2026 series. The SAT and AP dates are for 2026–27.

Sitting international tests from Nigeria

IELTS is available at IDP test centres in several Nigerian cities, including Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Enugu and Benin City. For the SAT, check College Board’s own test centre search for current centres and seats before choosing a date, because a full centre can change the whole plan.

For a student on WASSCE and NECO, the SAT dates in November, December and March fall before the Nigerian exam season; if 2027 follows the 2026 pattern, the May and June dates fall inside it. A student who also sits the UTME has a crowded April as well. A workable plan puts the SAT and IELTS in the free months and keeps the weeks around WASSCE and NECO papers light.

How online lessons work from Nigeria

  1. Send an enquiry

Write in English, French or Arabic, with the school route, the exams in view and the universities on the list. We answer in the language you write in.

  2. Free intro call

A conversation, not a test, about the exam dates, the destinations and how much time school leaves. For the SAT, a free full-length diagnostic follows before any plan; for IGCSE, IB and AP, the first lesson includes an assessment.

  3. A plan around the Nigerian calendar

Lessons are scheduled in Nigerian time. Nigeria stays on West Africa Time, 1 hour ahead of UTC, all year with no summer time, so a lesson time does not move between seasons.

  4. Live lessons in English

Lessons are live online and taught in English. A tutor who can also explain a point in French or Arabic is confirmed case by case and never promised.

  5. Prices before you commit

Open your programme’s pricing page to compare packages, lesson rates and available group courses.

What we do not claim

A page about a country should say what the company is and is not in that country.

  • No office in Nigeria

Lessons are live online. There is no Lagos or Abuja centre, and no address to visit.

  • No Nigerian results or testimonials

We do not publish scores, admissions or reviews from students in Nigeria, and we do not promise a score or a university place.

  • No partnerships or affiliations

We have no partnership with any Nigerian school or university and are not affiliated with WAEC, NECO, JAMB, Cambridge, the IB or College Board.

  • No WASSCE, NECO or UTME course

Our programmes cover international exams and school qualifications such as IGCSE and A Level. Subject work often helps with WASSCE papers, but we do not run a WASSCE, NECO or UTME programme.

Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers. If yours is not here, ask us.

No. We teach international exams such as the SAT and IELTS, and school qualifications such as IGCSE and A Level. Subject tutoring in mathematics, the sciences or English often helps with WASSCE and NECO papers too, but we do not run a course for WASSCE, NECO or the UTME.

Not always on their own. Some UK universities ask WASSCE students to complete a recognised foundation programme first; the University of Manchester, for example, states this on its Nigeria page. A Levels or the IB Diploma are the usual direct routes. Check the university’s international entry requirements for the course you want.

It depends on the university. Some UK universities accept a strong WAEC English grade in place of IELTS, as the University of Manchester usually does; others ask for IELTS or TOEFL regardless. US and Canadian rules vary in the same way, so check each university before booking a test.

The remaining 2026–27 SAT dates are 7 November and 5 December 2026, then 6 March, 1 May and 5 June 2027. The November, December and March dates sit before the Nigerian exam season; on the 2026 pattern, the May and June dates fall inside it. Planning for the earlier dates keeps the SAT clear of school exams.

Yes, through Direct Entry, registered with JAMB. JAMB’s general rule is at least five credit passes from no more than two sittings, at least two of them at A Level; Cambridge describes two A Level passes plus five IGCSE or O Level passes as the route into Level 200. IJMB and JUPEB are also on JAMB’s list. Confirm the current rules with JAMB.

Lessons are set in Nigerian time, West Africa Time (UTC+1), which does not change during the year. We fit them around school hours and exam weeks. Lessons are taught in English; enquiries can be written in English, French or Arabic.
