Enhanced ACT Preparation, Online
The ACT is shorter than it used to be, and Science no longer counts towards the Composite. For some students that makes it the better test to take; we help you find out whether you are one of them, and then prepare you for it.
Short answer
ACT preparation is offered online, one-to-one or in a group class.
One-to-one lessons are 90 minutes long and start at USD 80 per lesson; the group course runs 72 lessons of 60 minutes for USD 1,050, and a class never takes more than 6 students.
Group classes next begin on 30 November 2026.

The ACT, and why some students choose it over the SAT
The ACT is the other admissions test accepted by US universities that ask for one. Every university that accepts the SAT also accepts the ACT, and neither is preferred, so the choice between them is a practical one: which test does this student score higher on?
The enhanced ACT changed that calculation. It is now 125 minutes for the three sections that make up the Composite — English, Math and Reading — with more time per question than before, four answer choices in Math instead of five, and Science as an optional extra that does not affect the Composite. Students who are strong readers and quick, accurate in arithmetic often do better on the ACT; students who prefer fewer, more involved questions often prefer the SAT. A diagnostic on each is the reliable way to know.
How the enhanced ACT is structured
| Section | Questions | Time | Counts towards the Composite |
|---|---|---|---|
| English | 50 | 35 minutes | Yes |
| Math | 45 | 50 minutes | Yes |
| Reading | 36 | 40 minutes | Yes |
| Science (optional) | 40 | 40 minutes | No — reported separately |
| Writing (optional) | 1 essay | 40 minutes | No — scored 2–12 |
Source: ACT, test sections and structure, checked 22 September 2026. 125 minutes for the core; 165 with Science; 205 with Science and Writing. The Composite is the average of English, Math and Reading on the 1–36 scale.
Who this programme is for
Students applying to US universities
Especially those who have tried both tests and scored higher on the ACT, or whose school runs an American curriculum with a strong reading load.
Students unsure which test to take
Who want to compare their performance on both before committing months of preparation to one.
Students re-sitting for a higher Composite
The ACT lets universities see a superscore across sittings where they accept it, which can change how a re-sit is planned.
STEM applicants weighing the Science section
Who need to decide whether sitting the optional Science section helps their application or only adds forty minutes.
What the lessons work on
English: rules, then rhetoric
Punctuation, agreement and sentence structure are learnable rules and are where most points are recovered first; organisation and rhetorical questions follow.
Math: breadth at pace
The section covers a wide range from pre-algebra to trigonometry. Lessons fix the topics that cost the most marks, then build the speed to reach every question.
Reading: passage strategy
Four passages in forty minutes rewards a consistent method for reading and locating evidence, practised until it holds under time.
Science, if it is worth sitting
Science on the ACT is mostly data interpretation rather than recall. Where it helps an application, it is prepared as a reading-of-evidence skill.
Sitting the ACT from Africa
Outside the United States the ACT is taken on computer at authorised international test centres, on a published calendar of international dates. Centres operate in several African countries, but not in every city, so checking the nearest centre is the first thing to do — ACT’s own registration site is the only reliable source for the current list.
Because international sittings are computer-based, practice should be too: timing, scrolling and on-screen reading feel different from a paper booklet, and full practice under screen conditions is part of the plan.
How ACT preparation works
Every lesson is live, online and 90 minutes long, scheduled in your own time zone. Lessons are taught in English, the language the exam is sat in.
Free intro call
Fifteen minutes with an advisor, at no cost and with no obligation.
Diagnostic
You sit a free full-length diagnostic in the real exam format before any lesson is booked. It produces a starting score and, more usefully, an error profile: which question types are costing marks, whether the problem is content or timing, and which sections need a specialist. The plan is written from that rather than from an estimate. It is taken online at a time you choose, so nobody has to travel to a centre to find out where they stand.
Written plan
You receive a written plan built from your starting point and your test date: which ACT sections come first, how many lessons that realistically takes, and when full practice tests enter. Nobody is sold a fixed number of lessons before the gap is known.
Lessons and review
Each lesson ends with set work and a target for the next one. Families receive progress notes, and the plan is re-read against every new score rather than followed blindly.
