International Exam Preparation for Students in Cameroon

Cameroon runs two school systems side by side: the English-speaking subsystem ends with the GCE O Level and A Level set by the Cameroon GCE Board, and the French-speaking subsystem with the Probatoire and the Baccalauréat set by the Office du Baccalauréat du Cameroun (OBC). We prepare students from both for the international exams that sit alongside them, live online and in English, and plan the year around the Cameroonian exam calendar and university deadlines abroad.

  • Live online lessons on Cameroon time (UTC+1)
  • Lessons taught in English; enquiries in English, French or Arabic
  • Plans built around GCE, Probatoire, Baccalauréat and Campus France dates
  • Lesson packages and course options

How school ends in Cameroon

Which exams a student meets depends first on the subsystem. Anglophone schools lead to the GCE, francophone schools to the BEPC, the Probatoire and the Baccalauréat, and a smaller number of schools follow the French programme or the IB Diploma.

Where students apply, and what is usually asked

Requirements differ by university and by course, and they change between admissions cycles. The rows below describe the general pattern with examples; for any university on your list, check the university’s international entry requirements for the year you apply.

DestinationRoute and what is usually askedTests to plan for
FranceStudents resident in Cameroon apply through Études en France: a Demande d’admission préalable (DAP) for a first-year Licence, with a file submitted to Campus France Cameroun and a pedagogical interview; BTS and classes préparatoires go through ParcoursupSet by each university and course; for a course taught in English, check whether an English test is asked
CanadaUniversité Laval, for example, lists the Cameroonian Baccalauréat as the minimum diploma for its undergraduate programmes; capped programmes add conditions, and some ask for above-average results or a minimum level of FrenchA French or English test where the university asks for one
United KingdomSince 26 March 2026, the UK Government’s visa brake has refused new Student visa applications made outside the UK by Cameroonian nationals; it is reviewed regularly, so check GOV.UK first. On the academic side, the Cameroon GCE A Level is the usual route: Manchester considers holders for direct entry to undergraduate programmes, St Andrews asks for at least A in three subjects, and LSE does not accept the Cameroonian BaccalauréatEvidence of English for the university and for the UK student visa; check which tests the university accepts
GermanyThe university decides whether a school-leaving certificate gives direct access; the DAAD admission database gives a non-binding check, and uni-assist asks GCE holders for all their A Level and O Level results. Without direct access, the route is a Studienkolleg ending in the FeststellungsprüfungGerman for most Studienkollegs and German-taught programmes; an English test for programmes taught in English, where asked
United StatesThe full secondary-school record, essays and references; some selective universities require test scores again, others are test-optionalSAT or ACT where required; TOEFL or IELTS where the university asks for an English test; AP scores can support an application

Where the exam calendars collide

The 2026–27 school calendar places all official secondary exams between 19 April and 30 July 2027, but the 2027 timetables had not been published when this page was checked. The Cameroonian rows therefore show the 2026 session; the SAT, AP and Campus France dates are for 2026–27.

Two subsystems, two kinds of planning

For anglophone students, the GCE A Level is the qualification for which UK universities such as Manchester and St Andrews publish requirements, but since 26 March 2026 the UK Government’s visa brake has refused new Student visa applications made outside the UK by Cameroonian nationals. Until GOV.UK shows it lifted, a UK plan needs other destinations alongside it. Universities that teach in English also ask every applicant for evidence of English, and the GCE written papers in June fall in the same weeks as the June SAT, so a sensible plan puts the SAT in the autumn of the A Level years and leaves May and June for the GCE. The GCE Board issues an English Language Proficiency attestation on application to candidates with a pass in English; whether a university accepts it instead of IELTS or TOEFL is that university’s decision.

For francophone students, the Baccalauréat written papers fall in late May and the Probatoire in June, while Campus France deadlines start in October. A student aiming at an English-taught programme needs an English test as well, and the official IELTS listing shows British Council test centres in Yaoundé and Douala offering IELTS Academic and General Training on computer. For the SAT and TOEFL, the official College Board and ETS search tools are the only reliable lists of current centres and seats; check them before choosing a date.

How online lessons work from Cameroon

  1. Send an enquiry

Write in English, French or Arabic, with the subsystem, the exams in view and the universities on the list. We answer in English, French or Arabic.

  2. Free intro call

A conversation, not a test, about exam dates, destinations and how much time school leaves. For the SAT, a free full-length diagnostic follows before any plan; for IB, AP and IGCSE, the first lesson includes an assessment.

  3. A plan around the Cameroonian calendar

Lessons are scheduled in Cameroon time. The country stays on West Africa Time (UTC+1) all year with no summer time, so a lesson time does not move between seasons.

  4. Live lessons in English

Lessons are live online and taught in English, which is also the language of the SAT, TOEFL and IELTS. For francophone students, a tutor who can also explain a point in French is confirmed case by case and never promised.

  5. Prices before you commit

Open your programme’s pricing page to compare packages, lesson rates and available group courses.

What we do not claim

A page about a country should say what the company is and is not in that country.

  • No office in Cameroon

Lessons are live online. There is no centre in Douala, Yaoundé or Buea, and no address to visit.

  • No Cameroonian results or testimonials

We do not publish scores, admissions or reviews from students in Cameroon, and we do not promise a score or a university place.

  • No partnerships or affiliations

We have no partnership with any Cameroonian school or university and are not affiliated with the GCE Board, the OBC, MINESEC, Campus France, the AEFE, the IB or College Board.

  • No course for the Cameroon GCE or the Baccalauréat

Our A Level tutoring follows the papers of AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International, not those of the Cameroon GCE Board, and we do not run a programme for the BEPC, the Probatoire or the Baccalauréat.

Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers. If yours is not here, ask us.

No. We teach international exams such as the SAT, TOEFL and IELTS, and school qualifications such as the IB Diploma, AP and the UK boards’ A Levels. Subject tutoring in mathematics or the sciences can help with school work in either subsystem, but we do not run a course for the Cameroon GCE Board’s papers or for the OBC exams.

In 2026, the written papers of the general-education Baccalauréat were sat between 25 and 30 May, the GCE written papers from 2 to 18 June and the general-education Probatoire written papers from 8 to 12 June. For 2027, the school calendar places all official secondary exams between 19 April and 30 July 2027, with the exact dates to be fixed by separate decisions. Confirm them with the GCE Board, the OBC and your school.

Academically, yes: many UK universities publish requirements for them. Manchester, for example, considers Cameroon GCE A Level holders for direct entry to undergraduate programmes, and St Andrews asks for at least A in three subjects; LSE does not accept the Cameroonian Baccalauréat. The visa is the obstacle: since 26 March 2026, the UK Government’s visa brake has refused new Student visa applications made outside the UK by Cameroonian nationals, and LSE says it cannot accept applications from affected students while the brake is in effect. The brake is reviewed regularly, so check GOV.UK and the university’s international entry requirements before you apply.

Through Études en France, managed locally by Campus France Cameroun. For a first-year Licence starting in September 2027, files open on 1 October 2026 and must be submitted before 15 December 2026, interviews run until 1 March 2027, universities answer by 30 April 2027 and the final choice is due before 31 May 2027. BTS and classes préparatoires go through Parcoursup from January 2027.

Often, yes. Universities that teach in English, such as Manchester and St Andrews, ask every applicant for evidence of English, and a UK student visa has its own English requirement. The GCE Board issues an English Language Proficiency attestation on application to candidates with a pass in English, but whether it replaces IELTS or TOEFL is each university’s decision, so check before booking a test.

Lessons are set in Cameroon time, West Africa Time (UTC+1), which does not change during the year. We fit them around school hours, the two school breaks of the year and exam weeks. Lessons are taught in English; enquiries can be written in English, French or Arabic.
