ONE-TO-ONE

Private Tutoring, One to One and Online

One student, one specialist, ninety minutes. Private lessons are the format that adapts completely to one student’s gaps, school calendar and target, which is why most of our students use them for at least part of their preparation.

  • 90-minute live lessons
  • Specialist per exam section or subject
  • Scheduled in your time zone
  • Single lesson available first

How one-to-one tutoring works

  1. Intro call

A free fifteen-minute conversation about the exam, the timeline and the target.

  2. Starting point

A free diagnostic, a first-lesson assessment or an agreed review, depending on the programme.

  3. Matching

A tutor who has taught your exam, your board or your specific section — not simply “your subject”.

  4. Lessons and notes

Live lessons on a shared screen, set work after each one, and progress notes for the family.

What a lesson includes

  • Live teaching

Screen-sharing, a shared whiteboard and worked problems — the student works, the tutor corrects in the moment.

  • Set work

Every lesson ends with specific practice and a target for the next one.

  • Progress notes

Short written updates for parents: what was covered, what is improving, what is not yet.

  • Rescheduling

A lesson can be moved or cancelled up to 3 hours before it starts; the Terms of Sale set out the rule.

Lessons are taught in English

That is the language every exam on this site is sat in, and the language of the mark schemes. If explanations in French or Arabic would help, say so on the intro call: we will tell you honestly whether a tutor who can teach in that language is available for your subject.

Frequently asked questions

Short, direct answers. If yours is not here, ask us.

Yes. Every programme can be started with a single lesson at the single-lesson price. If you are not satisfied after your first lesson, we refund your payment in full. We do not offer free trial lessons. Payment is required before your first lesson.

Whatever time is agreed with the tutor, in your own time zone. Families across Africa typically book after school on weekdays or at weekends.

A laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, and a connection stable enough for a video call. A pen-enabled tablet helps for maths and sciences but is not required.

Find the right tutor

Tell us the exam or subject and the board. We will match you with someone who has taught exactly that.
